Dr Keith Brice MBChB FRCS

Keith grew up in Cape Town and graduated from UCT medical school in 1969. After 6 months as a medical intern at Edendale Hospital in Pietermaritzburg, he undertook a surgical internship at Queens Medical Centre, Hawaii, USA.
Following GP locums in England and six months as a casualty SHO at the Royal Free Hospital in London he obtained his Primary Surgical Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in Dublin. He then returned to Groote Schuur Hospital for his surgical training from 1972-76.

He completed his surgical fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 1976 and then worked as a surgical registrar in the United Kingdom for 3 years.
In 1980 he was appointed a Consultant Surgeon to the Tygerberg Hospital and Stellenbosch Medical School before joining Drs Jeffery and Partners in private practice in 1982.

His special interests are laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy and surgical gastro-enterology particularly colonic malignancies. He was one of the first members of the Groote Schuur Colo-rectal clinic. He has a particular interest in laparoscopic repair of inguinal hernias.

He has a wide experience in the management of breast malignancies working in conjunction with the Plastic surgeons and Oncologists at Constantiaberg Mediclinic.

From 1982 to 1999 he provided a continuous surgical service to the state patients at False Bay Hospital in Fish Hoek.

He consults at Constantiaberg and Fish Hoek. He is a member of the S.A. Gastro-enterology Society and the Association of Surgeons of South Africa and the South African Society of Endoscopic Surgeons.

In his spare time he enjoys golf and the outdoors in general, especially camping trips in the bush.

He is married to Judy and they have 2 children, Nicola and Sean.
